2. Join our community and register to receive information on meetings, etc.

3. Start or join a local chapter in your city/state. Click on "join Us" and select the "state groups" option to see if there is an existing group in your area. If not, volunteer to be the administrator of that state and start a group.

4. Make a donation!

Getting Started

 Our first order of business is to get a sufficient number of petitions signed in each state, or at least two thirds of them, to cause the state legislatures to call for the necessary constitutional convention.  For now, we are keeping the collection site centralized.  Once a mechanism is established for chapter maintenance in a state, the petitions for that state will be stored locally.  All petitions sent to our central location will be redistributed to the local chapters once the numbers for that state are sufficient for approaching the legislature.

Initially, individuals may work to secure signatures independently.  We will assist with helping participants form local groups through our companion "community" website to facilitate organized petition drives and activities.

As our network grows, we will be more sophisticated with our methodology and communication.   Fortunately, the process is relatively simple and shouldn't require a great deal of organizational complexity.

Getting Signatures

 We believe if you are taking an interest in this effort, you are likely an active and participating citizen, perhaps like many of us, for the first time in your life.  If not, perhaps you are taking the first steps.

It is very possible that you have already at a minimum shown an interest in getting involved by joining a local or even national grassroots organization.  If that is the case, we are not asking you to quit to join ours, we are asking that you consider helping us help you attain one of the most common objectives of many of the groups we know about, term limits for Congress.  We may or may not individually agree or disagree with all of your stands, however, if term limits is one of them, we are providing the mechanism for driving that effort.

If you are not fully convinced of the need for term limits, there is considerable information on this site from several very well respected sources.  We encourage you to read that material.
Once you are convinced term limits is necessary, please do three things, register on our community site, www.theamericanrepublic.ning.com, print one of more petitions and attempt to get them filled with signatures of people you know, and spread the word about our drive among the members of any groups you are affiliated with, especially the leadership.
